School's almost here! You know what that means folks! More reading! Over the summer I read some truly great books, but my favorites were definitely the Land of Stories. It's a series about two twins, Conner and Alex, who's dad has recently died in a car accident. In the first book the twins accidentally travel into a different world called the land of stories. It's a place where all of the fairy tale characters live. Conner and Alex don't know how to get home. While wandering across the different kingdoms the twins run into a friendly frog named Froggy who tells them about the wishing spell. The Wishing Spell is a special spell when somebody gathers [or steals] a precious item from each kingdom. When all of the precious items are put together, one wish will be granted. Unfortunately the spell can only be used twice and somebody has already used it once. When the evil queen is collecting items for the wishing spell too, the story takes a turn. 

In the second book, the evil enchantress cursed Sleeping Beauty, has taken over the Land of Stories, and it is up to Conner and Alex to save the Land.  With the love triangle between Goldilocks, Jack, and Queen Red Riding Hood, there are fights throughout the pages. Unfortunately, since little girls Goldilocks and Queen Red Riding Hood are rivals, many dangerous things happen. 

In the third book, Alex is in the Land of Stories training to be the next Fairy Godmother while Conner is living in the human world. While Conner travels through the portal with Bree, a girl from his class, the twins' grandmother is dying and a French army also travels through the portal and tries to invade the Land of Stories. With the help of the Masked Man and a baby dragon, the French army looks like they'll win the war. But when uncounted armies join the story takes an unexpected turn. 

With evil armies and hilarious comments, these stories are sure to tickle your funny bone!
